Abstract
We present a unique case of a 60-year-old female patient with asymptomatic pleural mass secondary to a urinoma extravasating through a left Bochdalek hernia. The patient presented for an outpatient lithotripsy for a renal calculus. During preoperative evaluation a large left-sided pleural mass was noticed on chest X-ray. CT revealed a 21x7x8cm loculated effusion adjacent to a sub-diaphragmatic fluid collection suspicious for a ruptured renal calyx. Multidisciplinary discussions decided ureteral stent placement was appropriate prior to procedural treatment of effusion. The treatment resulted in improvement of both urinary and respiratory symptoms. CXR follow-up in 3 months was normal.
