Abstract
We present a 64 y.o. exclusively Spanish-speaking male who presents to a free community health clinic for a prostate examination. During the examination, the volunteer translator lacked the vocabulary needed to ensure the patient had a comfortable and effective examination. In this case, we will discuss the effects of poor translation quality during procedures and how it relates to standards of beneficence, nonmaleficence, and patient autonomy.
