Abstract

A 47-year-old female with a PMH of malignant pheochromocytoma s/p left adrenalectomy and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy in 2019 presented with generalized, stabbing abdominal pain and hemoptysis. CT scan revealed a retroperitoneal cystic mass and lung nodules. Diagnostic work-up was highly suggestive of recurrent pheochromocytoma. Plan for biopsy was complicated by the potential for catecholamine surge. We will discuss anesthetic management of patients with recurrent pheochromocytoma.
