Abstract
A 45-year-old male with a history of controlled hypertension had a chest CT angiography that demonstrated a thoracic aortic aneurysm with type A aortic dissection extending from the aortic annulus to the right common iliac artery. The patient underwent emergency supra-coronary aortic root replacement and frozen elephant trunk, and he was transferred to the cardiac intensive care unit postoperatively for hemodynamic management. We will discuss potential causes of aortic dissection in young adults, as well as crucial post-operative interventions that are necessary for optimal medical management.
