Abstract

A 59-year-old female, with a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, underwent retinal detachment repair of the right eye. Given the risks of severe long-term complications, the patient proceeded with operation despite residual symptoms. General anesthesia with a laryngeal mask airway was administered and post-operation respiratory function remained stable. This case presentation explores the evolution of anesthesia protocols from the early stages of COVID-19 pandemic to present. This includes personal protective equipment usage, airway management techniques, and the prioritization of procedures. The case highlights adaptations in medical practices over the course of a global health crisis.
