Abstract
A 30-year-old female, expecting twins, presented to triage in preterm labor with symptoms consistent with preeclampsia. A week prior, she was admitted for similar symptoms and was prescribed Procardia on discharge, but was noncompliant. The patient had limited prenatal care throughout the pregnancy. In the operating room, she vaginally delivered twin A and underwent an emergency caesarean section for Twin B. A T-uterine incision revealed the breech fetus with multiple loops of tightly wrapped umbilical cord around the leg and body, which were successfully reduced. This case presentation discusses the impact of social determinants of health on patient health outcomes.
