Abstract

We present 35-year-old female who experienced disproportionate right ankle pain, swelling, color change, and paresthesia of right 3-5 digits. When evaluated, she had already had fifteen revisional surgeries after a motor vehicle accident caused tibial and talus bone fractures. Her surgical progression was complicated by non-union of the ankle joint, avascular necrosis, infection, and wound dehiscence. A diagnosis of complex reginal pain syndrome was eventually made and treatment with a spinal cord stimulator was initiated. This case will discuss the diagnostic criteria of complex regional pain syndrome and treatment with spinal cord instrumentation.
