Abstract
Variation in Sugammadex Administration (NMB-04) is a quality improvement measure available through Multicenter Perioperative Outcomes Group. NMB-04 measures the proportion of cases with sugammadex administration where the cumulative sugammadex dose is ≤200 mg OR ≤3 mg/kg, aiming to promote use of the lower dosing option (i.e. 2 mg/kg) for this expensive medication. We examined anesthetic records of patients at our medical center who received sugammadex before and after NMB-04 implementation to determine any associated changes in sugammadex dosing patterns. We also performed an analysis of several “off-label” uses to determine practice patterns (e.g. pediatric, ESRD) at our institution.
