Abstract
Conclusion: The current literature supports the concept of quadratus lumborum block providing efficient analgesic coverage for cesarean section patients. The literature also demonstrates improved pain control in patients that received QL blocks compared to control groups that received alternative analgesic coverage such as intrathecal morphine. QL blocks may be a superior option for cesarean patients that leads to less opioid consumption and better pain control. This systematic review observed that QL blocks were superior to other anesthetic modalities as evidenced by improved patient outcomes related to pain control, ambulation, and peri-operative course
