Abstract

This study investigates the optimal duration of pain medication for surgical patients' recovery. The study employed Real-Time Interactive Worldwide Intelligence (RIWI), a novel survey tool, to collect responses on perioperative conditions from 2369 participants. Additionally, the study explores the correlation between the time taken to return to baseline function and the duration of medication usage. Strategies like multimodal analgesia, regional anesthesia techniques, enhanced recovery pathways, and non-pharmacological pain management approaches are discussed as avenues to optimize postoperative pain control and enhance recovery outcomes, while embracing the patient-centered paradigm.
