Long Lasting Mental Health Effects of Prolonged Hospitalization

Abstract
A 51 year old female who had formerly been living independently developed Guillan Barre Syndrome after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine resulting in exacerbations of her musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary comorbidities, and necessitating a leg amputation. During a prolonged hospitalization, she was treated for the aforementioned conditions, and also for anxiety and depression. With this case report we will discuss the incidence and treatment of mental health disturbances following prolonged hospitalization.
