Abstract

A 63-year-old male with a past medical history of coronary artery disease presented to the emergency department with a small bowel obstruction requiring exploratory laparotomy and possible small bowel resection. Intraoperatively, the patient became acutely hypotensive with ST-segment changes and new onset complete heart block. We will discuss risk factors and signs of intraoperative acute coronary syndromes as well as immediate interventions for patient stabilization in the operating room.
