Abstract

A G1P1 22-year-old was rushed to the OR for an emergency C-section due to non-reassuring fetal heart tones. She was told that she would go under general anesthesia as opposed to her planned epidural due to the severity of the presentation. She became combative and uncooperative from the fear of being put under general anesthesia. Her partner convinced her to cooperate with us and her baby was successfully delivered via C-section under general anesthesia. This case discussion will go over the varying options for C-section anesthesia when mothers refuse certain options.
