Abstract
A 48 yo female was scheduled to undergo a Carpal Tunnel release with a regional block and IV sedation. The case was initially boarded in one section of the hospital, however, due to a leak in the designated OR, the case was moved to an OR on a different floor. A handover was completed with the circulating and pre-op nurse. The patient was taken to the OR, prepped and a timeout was performed before any anesthesia provider saw the patient. This case explores the concerns and risks associated with production pressure with an emphasis on patient safety.
