Abstract

This is a 60 year old female who underwent C4-C7 ACDF. The day after the case, patient went into cardiac arrest and CPR was performed with ROSC achieved. She was found to have a large hematoma at C4 which required surgical evacuation. This was completed successfully. The neck hematoma was determined to be the cause of cardiac arrest after an extensive cardiac workup. This presentation will discuss the common causes of cardiac arrest along with less common causes that clinicians must consider in critically ill patients.
