Abstract

A 12 year old female with metastatic adenocarcinoma presented for exploratory thoracoscopy and wedge resection for multiple bilateral lung nodules. A double lumen tube was placed and one-lung ventilation (OLV) of the left lung was initiated and maintained without any difficulty. When OLV was switched from the left lung to the right lung, patient experienced difficulty in ventilation and oxygenation. In this case, we will discuss the unique challenges associated with OLV during bilateral lung procedures.
