Abstract
To review and highlight common causes of hip pain, often unsuspected clinically and presenting initially on MR/MR arthrography in patients referred for evaluation of suspected internal derangement and/or femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. This exhibit is meant to provide an educational review and reference for practicing radiologists and radiologists in training.Emphasis on differential diagnostic considera tions of hip pain beyond the labrum and femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. Review the clinical presentation and imaging appearance of common causes of hip pain: overuse injuries, ischiofemoral impingement syndrome, benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors, transient bone marrow edema, and musculotendinous injuries.
