Abstract
The US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)1 recently broadened its recommendation for annual screening with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) to include patients aged 50 to 80 years with 20 pack-year smoking histories but recommended discontinuation of screening “once a person has not smoked for 15 years or develops a health problem that substantially limits life expectancy or the ability or willingness to have curative lung surgery.”
