Abstract
A 62 year old female with pancreatic leak, abdominal abscess, and leaking pseudoaneurysm following a pancreaticoduodenectomy presented to interventional radiology for embolization of the pseudoaneurysm. During the procedure, the aneurysm ruptured into the bowel. The sedation nurse notified the IR anesthesiologist on call who arrived and intubated the patient. However, the patient aspirated prior to intubation. She became progressively hypoxic and hypotensive and eventually suffered cardiac arrest. After several rounds of CPR, ROSC was achieved. This case discussion will focus on safety of non-operating room procedures with and without anesthesia.
