Abstract

A 42 year old female presented for a dilation and curettage hysteroscopy and myomectomy. She initially was going to have the procedure done in the outpatient office but during induction, she had developed diffuse muscle rigidity. The procedure was cancelled and rescheduled for inpatient. Upon induction and insertion of the laryngeal mask airway, she again had diffuse muscle stiffness. After 3 minutes, the muscle rigidity resolved. The rest of her perioperative and post-operative course were uneventful. Will discuss post-induction generalized muscle hypertonia.
