Abstract

This is a case of a 62 F who underwent a successful simultaneous liver & kidney transplant. She was extubated in the OR and transferred to the ICU. 3 days later, she developed chest pain and altered mental status requiring reintubation. She was ultimately found to have Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. We will discuss risks associated with simultaneous liver-kidney transplants, Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and its incidence in relation to liver transplants.
