Abstract
Impella is a percutaneously placed ventricular assist device used to support cardiac output by pumping blood from the ventricle to its outflow tract. We present an 87-year-old male with post-cardiotomy cardiogenic shock and bi-ventricular failure after mitral and aortic valve replacement. Left and Right Impella devices were used to support each ventricle. Here, we will discuss post-operative management of cardiogenic shock & indications for Impella placement.
