Medical Neglect of an Adult Dependent

Abstract
A 39-year-old male with no PMH presented to the ED with altered mental status, which progressed over a course of one week with worsening fatigue, decreased appetite, and dysphagia. He was found unconscious in the basement of his family home by his best friend and subsequently brought into the hospital despite the hesitancy of family members. With this case report, the signs and symptoms of medical neglect of an adult-dependent will be explored.
