Abstract
We present the development of a rare neuro-malignancy, the ethics of placing a therapeutic VP shunt in the setting of neuro-malignancies, and the unique extubation criteria concerns in terminally ill individuals undergoing surgery with a DNR/DNI status. The patient is a 21-year-old woman who presented with a history of ovarian cancer and cytology proven leptomeningeal carcinomatosis with supratentorial metastasis.
