Abstract

We present a case of a 53-year-old female with a history of multiple uterine fibroids who presented for robotic-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy. During the operation, a total of six fibroids were dissected from the uterus, and the uterus was divided into smaller pieces to facilitate removal. Specimens were removed at the end of the procedure; the final specimen was difficult to locate within the pelvis and required assistance from general surgery, resulting in a total procedure time of just under 6 hours. We discuss the costs and benefits of performing robotic-assisted hysterectomy in a patient with multiple fibroids.
