Abstract

Specialty radiology reads, including RECIST 1.1 and Lugano criteria, are vital in oncology research, providing standardized methods to assess tumor response and ensure consistent data across trials. Radiologists trained in these guidelines help produce accurate, reproducible results critical for regulatory approvals and advancing cancer treatments. However, variability in image interpretation, inconsistent training, and guideline adherence can lead to discrepancies, affecting trial outcomes and introduce bias. Limited research exists on compliance rates with these guidelines in research settings. This study seeks to address that gap by analyzing compliance in clinical trials, identifying factors contributing to non-compliance, and offering insights to enhance radiology assessments' accuracy and reliability.
