Abstract
Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS, NeuroPace, Mountain View, California) is a closed-loop system that is cranially implanted, and can detect, learn, and stimulate individual epileptiform activity. While it has been seen to have a reduction in seizure burden, more incidental findings have been observed in previous studies post-implantation of the RNS including improvements in cognitive functions. There are limited studies observing the neuropsychological effects of the RNS outside of seizure burden reduction.
